Day 1 - 4th of June

Day 1 - 4th of June

Ah! The wonderful journey to Africa, and the great enjoyment! The thrill of waiting in the airport for hours, flying on a long plane and of course the check of identity through passport and a bunch of papers. Not! While the journey for sure was tiring, between getting to the train station at 10, saying goodbye to parents, travelling on a train for 2 hours of comfort. Or more like 2 hours of being cramped between each other and our bags. Although it was very irritating, getting through the border without any problems was surprisingly easy. Very surprisingly easy! I mean for international students with foreign passports this was VERY easy!

After getting off the train, we placed our bags in lockers and then went around Vilnius for a while. Admiring the amazing art of Purim and Trump embracing, and the vast amount of dogs walking with their owners. Seeking food, we decided to go to a place that will serve something we could al enjoy. After a few hassles, we finally settled on a place where we could eat. And a few failed orders and admiring the other customer's pizza, we got or food. Food update: tasted pretty decent. So then we went back following Mr Smalley's footsteps, which we all for some reason trusted considering he was just following his phone. And after a while of hiking to the train station, we got our bags (having a little bit of a hiccup in our flawless journey when we realised that our bags were taken in a place where bags that are not paid for go) and went to the airport by bus. There we checked in our bags, contacted our family, me (Klava) and Anna watched a tv series, well another word; we just passed time until our plane.

Finally! The first part of our journey to South Africa was done, now the hard part, flying. The plane was actually pretty nice compared to the ones I am used to, which are pretty basic. Flying to Turkey we could talk to each other, watch movies, eat the food they provided (sorry Justyna that they didn't have a vegan option) and chat to whoever was sitting next to you. That is if you did sit next to someone, considering we were all over the place. And after 3 hours of flying and then finding each other when we got off the plane, we arrived in Turkey.
